Lunar speculations
Napoleon and John Bull are depicted in a landscape under a night sky. Napoleon, (l.), has removed his enormous hat and placed it on the ground beside him. Hands on his knees, he bends to peer through a telescope while speculating on the possibility of conquering the full moon. On the right, John Bull, a cheerful, heavy man, clutches his stomach and laughs at Napoleon's truly unbounded ambition. Bull comments that Napoleon has also expressed goals of conquering Britain, a feat equally unlikely as conquering the moon. Napoleon and John Bull are depicted in a landscape under a night sky.
