Welcome

Welcome to the Digital Library of Rhode Island (DLORI), an exciting statewide initiative to create a unified, broad digital collection documenting Rhode Island's rich cultural heritage.

The Vision of DLORI is to build a varied and comprehensive digital collection that documents the cultural heritage of Rhode Island's past, present, and future.

The Mission of DLORI is to bring together the collections of Rhode Island's cultural heritage institutions—libraries, museums, archives, historical societies, and other organizations—to foster learning, exploration, and understanding of the state's complex history. DLORI will be a collaborative effort of these Rhode Island organizations.

Our Collection Statement emphasizes actively seeking collections that represent the varied experiences and perspectives of those who have made this geographic area their home. This project strives to gather materials from across the area and throughout its history, with a goal of presenting a multi-dimensional collection from institutions that represent the many voices that have contributed to and shaped Rhode Island.
