Original charcoal drawing, dated and signed L.E.F(isher); sketch of head and shoulders of soldier in helmet, another soldier behind wearing heavy pack and rifle, also in helmet, grasping something with hands (tying rope?). On verso : "On board USS Gen. A.E. Anderson, Navy Transport, Hampton Roads, VA to Casablanca, Morocco, Nov 25 1943 - Dec 4 1943". Fisher served overseas during World War Two as a map specialist with the U.S. Army's 30th Topographic Engineers.
