Composed for, and respectfully dedicated to Capt. Geo. T. Curtis, officers and members of the Rifle Rangers by Nolcini. Cover lith. ill. by Bufford after Lydiston entitled "View of the encampment at New Bedford, August 5, 1840." The cover also includes the note that it was "first published and sold at the fair in aid of the Bunker Hill Monument, Sept.7, 1840." This eight-day fair was organized by a ladies' committee to raise funds for the completion of the Bunker Hill monument.
