Original unsigned watercolor by Mussowar Khan copied from an earlier painting, now lost. 'Nawab Sadat Ali Khan (r. 1798-1814) seated with his son in a box-like takht (throne) at a durbar, surrounded by the most important people, Indian and European, in Lucknow at the end of the 18th century. Among those present are the British Resident Colonel William Scott (1754?-1804) seated left next top the nawab, the chief minister, Tafuzzai Hussein Khan (1727-1800) seated right next to the nawab and Major General Claude Martin (1735-1800)' - Rosie Llewellyn-Jones, 'Indian Treasures in a Scottish County House', Orientations, Vol. 52, No. 6 (November/December 2020), page 7.
