The Brown Dance Ensemble in Concert
This concert featured two works by director Julie Adams Strandberg, "Dimensions," inspired by Edwin Abbott's novella "Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions"and "The Hypercube," a film by math professor Tom Banchoff and "Ice Images," a men's duet inspired by "Men in the Cities," photographs by Robert Longo. The program also included associate director Margaret Doner's solo, "Widow's Walk." and works by guest choreographers Marcus Shulkind and David Parsons. Julie Adams Strandberg's directors note was dedicated to the memory of Carl Andrew Hardy '75. Six pages of ads from the Brown Bookstore, Squires Salon, Squire Cleansers and Tailors, and Jo-Art copy| local eateries the Taco Maker| D'angelo's, Peaberry's, Meeting Street Cafe, Andreas, and off Thayer Street merchants, many appearing for multiple years, including Adler's, Chez Lenore New Interiors, Narragansett Lumber Company, Renaissance of Hair, and Creative Typsetting, Inc. The student choreographers for this show were: Leslie Findlen, Rebecca Crowley Parkhill, Maria St. John, Cristina C.
