The Massacre at Lyons, ordered by Collot d'Herbois at the head of 100,000 Sansculottes. On that day 6000 persons were murdered, either by grape shot from the mouths of canon or by the sword & their bodies thrown into the Rhone. The City Lyons was in a great maesure [sic] demolished, & its name changed into that of the en franchised corporation, December 14th 1793
