Original rather primitive unsigned watercolor; standing uniform figure with gun, coconut tree at left, harbor and fort (Fort George, Barbados) etc. in right background, packet ships, merchant ships, commissariat stores, signal post, various trees identified (cocoa, strawberry palm, cotton) etc. Note: The 70th Regiment were stationed on Barbados from January 1838 until June 1841.
