Small in stature and further dwarfed by his large hat, Napoleon, (l.) approaches the Duchess of Würtemberg, (r.), and her lady in waiting. Whereas the plumes and trim on Napoleon's hat--as well as the sword that trails from his belt--make him look ridiculous, the Duchess is tall in stature and elegantly dressed.
