At head of title wood-engraving of wooden box bearing address label: Philadelphia Pa. rightside up with care and caption: 3 feet and 1 inch long, 2 feet wide, 2 feet and 6 inches high. Psalm-like poem by man who escaped slavery in a box mailed to Philadelphia. Place and date of publication suggested because Brown's autobiography was published in Boston in 1849.
