Suggested publication date from internal evidence and because ms. notation on Brown University copy mentions performance on Saturday July 22; July 22 fell on Saturday in 1854, 1865 and 1871; Odell's Annals of the N.Y. stage, 1927, lists Peak family performances in the 1860s and 1870s.
