Senator Election Ballot: Rhode Island Ticket

1843 Rhode Island Ticket – In 1842 opposing the views of the reform minded element of the Democratic party lead by Thomas Dorr was a coalition of Whigs and conservative Democrats commonly referred to as “Law & Order”. The term “Law & Order” remained in use until late into the 1840”s. This local “Law & Order” ticket is from Warwick and was headed by former governor John Brown Francis.
