Suggested range of publication dates from internal evidence; mention of John Hay as "former Secretary of State of the United States of America" suggests date is soon after his death. Suggested place of publication because speaker William P. McLaughlin published books in Buenos Aires; also, speaker Charles Hitchcock Sherrill, who was United States minister to Argentina, is called "Minister of the United States of America."
