The American Tract Society was located at the above address between 1832 and 1894 and again from 1899 on. This piece printed in their "old" type, suggesting publication between 1832 and 1848.

"Free poems among friends" had its beginnings in San Francisco in the Spring of 1965. By September of that year publication was continued by the Detroit Artist's Workshop, later Detroit Artists' Workshop Press. (See "Free poems among friends, Vol. 1, p. [3]") This issue probably published in San Francisco.
